Right now, I work in the same directory as those netlists and symbols, so I have no issues netlisting any top-level schematics I make. But I'd like to make this collection more self-contained when I'm ready to share it with colleagues. That is, I'd like to group all these subckt netlists and symbols, and my colleagues simply have to setup a few search paths for gschem/gnetlist to find the appropriate files. I know we can specify the library of symbols and library of source schematics in the gafrc file via: - (component-library "/path/to/symbols" "My-Library-Name") - (source-library "/path/to/source-schematics") Unfortunately, I'm using a special circuit simulator that does not like the gnetlist result where symbols are associated with sub-schematics via the source attribute. Otherwise, this would've worked beautifully. So instead, I'm left with specifying the file attribute to point to the appropriate subckt netlist (which was generated from a schematic using the spice-subcircuit-LL-1.sym and spice-subcircuit-IO-1.sym for the ports). So I'm wondering, is there a way to tell gnetlist to search a folder for netlists just like how we can specify search paths for source schematics via "source-library"? Or is there some clever alternative? For example, I tried setting an environmental variable containing the path of where I keep the netlists, and then tried specifying the variable as part of the default file attribute value of the symbol (e.g. ${NETLIST_PATH}/some-netlist.cir) but unfortunately, gnetlist couldn't expand the variable. Or is there some way to use the source attribute with my subckt schematics but instead of flattening the netlist (i.e. using notation like X1/R1 X2/R1), can we still have gnetlist create the subckt definitions as it does in the file attribute approach?
