I tried that thanks, but it didn't work. I removed geda and recompiled and reinstalled but this time in the default system locations. now when I try to start gschem I get gschem: error while loading shared libraries: libgedacairo.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I have lepton working so maybe I will just use that , but If I can get both working easily that would be nice.
