This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------B122B329C9A1F0469ADCE75B Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hello all, Thanks for the replies, some of which were a little over my head, some left me with more questions. The testpin symbol is a ready-made solution for one of my problems, although I find it puzzling that there are no footprints for this symbol in the standard installation. Bert Timmermans and Phil Taylor basically wrote the solution that I first had in mind, but the way to achieve this is still a question for me. Bert wrote: "/I use two single pin symbols in the schematic and connect (and place a text "wire bridge"). I use two single pin footprints in the pcb layout and draw the "wire" on a separate layer and silkscreen./" Where can I find pin symbols? In gschem I couldn't find them and the symbols under Input/Output (generic) didn't work for me, even when I assigned a footprint to them (I used a footprint of a single pin header). Is this a case of rolling your own? In the mean time I used pin headers as a temporary solution and it works. The board is a double layer hobby project in order to learn to use gEDA, so it doesn't need to be professional, but still.... I want to get it right.
