John, I for one am very interested in=C2=A0an exporter. I am/was planning t=
o write something, probably in awk encapsulated in a bash script. I did hav=
e a dialogue with a support rep at Microfab (last message pasted below) and=
he wasn't familiar with gEDA PCB. Microfab's requirements for file submiss=
ion are very specific, more so than I used to with OSHPark and others. I su=
spect that this lowers production costs by putting more of the burden PNP a=
ccuracy burden on the client.
Most of what they require in their XYRS file can be extracted from the .pcb=
file although some of it seems to be overkill and possibly a dialogue coul=
d negotiate it away. The part that, to me, seemed more difficult to extract=
from the .pcb file is XSize and YSize, "size of package measured by the pa=
d footprint. This would require some computation.
BTW - my interest in Microfab was peaked by this YouTube:https://www.youtub=
e.com/watch?v=3DwyQj23MkU3k&sns=3Dem
-----------Most-recent-Microfab-email--------------Hey Ed,
I am not familiar with gEDA, however you should be able to export from it G=
erbers, placement and a BOM. Hopefully it has an export function so that yo=
u can get those files uploaded to the Macrofab platform.
Let me know how it goes,
Jerry McDaniel <support AT macrofab DOT net>
...
If there's enough active pcb-rnd user interest, I can roll an exporter this=
weekend.
