I finally got pcb to work on FreeBSD version 10.2 without the problem descr=
ibed in this thread. I will test it during the next week to see if I will b=
e able to use it with the current configuration.
For completeness I will record what I did here , in case anyone runs into t=
he same problem in the future and views this thread.
1) Download the latest version from the source repository using git. (i.e. =
git clone=C2=A0
git://git.geda-project.org/pcb.git pcb ; commit ref:
85abc6ef9792d8da4879cbe975537373b3c2ac30
)
2) Follow the build instructions in the pcb source code. This is the config=
uration command I issued:
$ ./configure --disable-doc --disable-toporouter --disable-gl --disable-upd=
ate-desktop-database --disable-update-mime-database
3) Add any missing dependencies.
Not sure if there are any other issues in the version of pcb retrieved from=
the source repository, but the issue I reported was no longer present.
I did not have time to go through the source code and pin point the exact c=
ause of the problem.

Do some look different pads and ElementLine lengths?
If so, something is probably going wrong at importing time.
Do you know how your library lists are?=C2=A0 If the same named footprint i=
s in two directories, maybe it gets one, then another.
The libraries need to be uniquely named footprints unless only one version =
at a time is in your library search path.
