It's very impolite to release a new version of someone else's software.
VERY impolite. You forgot to change the name. You also forgot to establish
a different set of infrastructure. New mailing lists, etc. You also forgot
to announce that you were forking the software, and why. As far as I can
see, you did pretty much everything wrong. Sorry to be the bearer of bad
news. But the good news is that next time, now that you know what is
required for a proper fork, you can do a better job!
