I rectangle-select a symbol. It is highlighted in red.  I type Ctrl-c and then Ctrl-v.  Nothing visible happens (other than "Control c" and "Control v" being printed to the taskbar at the bottom of the window.

If I rectangle-select the part and then choose:  Edit --> Copy, then when I click "Edit" again, the "Paste" option is grayed out.
When doing the above, the component was still selected (highlighted in red).  If I click elsewhere in the schematic then under the Edit menu cut/copy/paste/delete are all grayed out.

But copying a component with "ec" works for me (but only within a single sheet).
