I would have though so too, but it doesn't work for me.  In fact, ctrl-c, ctrl-v doesn't work for me even within a single schematic.
The copy works, but paste does not.  Under the "Edit" menu, after copying, the relevant options (cut, copy, paste, delete) are all inactive (grayed out).
