Hi,=0A=0AI am trying to draw a footprint for a transformer in pcb.=A0 I wis=
h to add a mark (an "o") on the silk layer near pad one for proper placemen=
t of the part.=A0 I have run into some problems trying to do this:=0A=0A(1)=
if I draw the pads (on top layer), and put the "o" on silk layer near pad =
1 (using text tool), draw a silk part outline, select all, cut to buffer, c=
onvert buffer to element, then paste buffer on work area, the "o" does not =
appear.=A0 The silk outline layer does appear as I have drawn it.=0A=0A=0A(=
2) if I draw the pads (top layer), cut to buffer, convert to element, then =
add the silk "o", cut to buffer, convert to element, then paste, the "o" do=
es appear.=A0 But if I left click on the silk part outline, everything *exc=
ept* the silk "o" becomes highlighted in blue (looks like the "o" is not co=
nsidered to be part of the element?).=0A=0A(3) continuing from (2), if I se=
lect everything, cut to buffer, and save buffer elements to file, this look=
s like it has succeeded, but if I try opening the footprint I just generate=
d in pcb, nothing appears.=0A=0ACan anyone suggest where I am going wrong?=
=A0 What is the correct way to add text to the silk layer when drawing a pa=
rt?=0A=0AThank you for any help.=0A=0AJason McLafferty=0A
