OK, so I'm a newbie. When I copy downloaded symbols into the directory structure (/usr/local/share/gEDA/sym under OpenBSD) sometimes I can see them in gschem and sometimes not. Does not seeing them mean there's something wrong with those symbols or is there something else I have to do, maybe analogous to mkfontdir to regenerate the indexes? I CVSed a bunch from gedasymbols.org but I don't think I'm seeing all of them. More recently I got an NE602 symbol from http://custard.restall.net/geda/index.php but I don't see it.
