You mean really nothing, even not a command prompt? That would be strange, but otherwise perhaps DOSes above 6.22 got that bug fixed. As for Windows - it definitely wouldn't have an empty env, so on windows I don't suppose this problem can be reproduced. But I think you can work around that problem if you run it with /E:2048 to give more environment space. Then I hope it will work. But as you said, its not related to the problem, so maybe you don't want to do that. :)
