They have configured and compiled the port (wat3222s.zip) using DJGPP-204.
I have inspected the changes.  They are documented in the patch below.
If they are useful and if they should be committed to the watt code
must be decided by Gisle Vanem.  I have no knowledge about how to
detect 486 cpus.
