This is a port of JasPer 1.900.0 to MSDOS/DJGPP.

JasPer is a collection of software (i.e., a library and application programs)
for the coding and manipulation of images. This software can handle image
data in a variety of formats. One such format supported by JasPer is the
  JPEG-2000 format defined in ISO/IEC 15444-1.

  DJGPP specific changes.
  =======================

There are no changes to the sources. Only the usual configuration files have
been added. They are located in the /djgpp subdir.

To configure the package you will have to install the ljepg port available
  at ftp.delorie.com and mirrors as:
    ftp://ftp.delorie.com/pub/djgpp/current/v2tk/ljep6bb.zip
  or:
    ftp://ftp.delorie.com/pub/djgpp/beta/v2tk/ljep6bb.zip
Of course, you can download a newer version of ljpeg if available. The ljpeg
stored in /current have been compiled with djdev203 and is intented for use
with Win98SE. The one from /beta is compiled with djdeb204 beta for the use
  with WinXP-SP2.

Please read the docs to become familiar with this product.

  -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

  From the NEWS file:

    1) The wavelet transform code has been rewritten in order to be more
cache efficient (via loop tiling). As a few individuals have noted,
the old code could often result in an excessive number of cache misses.

    2) Some man pages have been added to the distribution as provided
by Roland Stigge <stigge AT debian DOT org>.

    3) Some simple timer routines have been added to facilitate performance
    measurements.

    4) Numerous bugs have been fixed (e.g., memory leaks, JP2 box processing
    problem, etc.).

    5) Some name space pollution issues have been resolved.

    6) A few compiler warnings have been fixed.

  -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The port consists of the usual three packages that have been compiled using
djdev203 and that can be downloaded from ftp.delorie.com and mirrors as
  (timestamp 2007-01-14):

JasPer 1.900.0 binaries, headers, and libs:
    ftp://ftp.delorie.com/pub/djgpp/current/v2tk/jas1900b.zip

    JasPer 1.900.0 pdf format documentation:
    ftp://ftp.delorie.com/pub/djgpp/current/v2tk/jas1900d.zip

    JasPer 1.900.0 source:
    ftp://ftp.delorie.com/pub/djgpp/current/v2tk/jas1900s.zip

For the convenience of the WinXP users the binaries has been produced a
second time using the djdev204 beta library. This package is available at
ftp.delorie.com and mirrors as (timestamp 2007-01-14):

JasPer 1.900.0 binaries, headers, and libs:
    ftp://ftp.delorie.com/pub/djgpp/beta/v2tk/jas1900b.zip

Send jasper specific bug reports to <mdadams AT ece DOT uvic DOT ca>.
Send suggestions and bug reports concerning the DJGPP port to
  comp.os.msdos.djgpp or <djgpp AT delorie DOT com>.

Enjoy.
