Allegro (as far as I know) will not be version 5 any time soon; the 
current versions are 4.2.x and the next major branch is 4.3.x; the plans 
for a big new Allegro 5 API were dropped some time ago 
(http://alleg.sourceforge.net/future.html).  Whether or not 4.3.x 
supports/will support DJGPP, I do not know, but that would probably be 
something to take up on the Allegro developer mailing list.
