Okay looks like you are heading in the right direction. I am a bit
rusty with the issues and how I got arround them/fixed them. 

Have a look at www.delorie.com for the newgroup archive and search for
perl issues. When I built perl I remember that make test did not do
very well, but that was a long time ago.....
