It would, if you were still using it the same way you used to.  But
you're not --- you're running it in a rather wildly different
environment now.

No. It's XP being a lot less friendly to DOS programs (like DJGPP)
than Win95 used to be 10 years ago.

DJGPP itself does work on XP with only minor quirks.  RHIDE seems to
have a lot more problems --- as would be expected, given the way it
works the screen.

Mostly because Microsoft seems to be determined to shoot DOS programs
down wherever it finds them.
