Solution for DOS, WIN 9x is to use Rhide 1.5.0.1 from
http://www.rhide.com/

Partial solution for XP is use Rhide 1.5.0.1 and start with a '-S'
option to see if this helps. if the '-S' works then you have buggy
Video bios. You will still get Rhide crashes with XP and 1.5.01, but
less than with 1.5.0 and 1.4.9 will not even start so I do not know
how you are using it under XP. 

Win 2000 = XP for the purpose of this response with regards to Rhide.
