The question is - why is it still offered for download without a warning
(e.g. ZIP picker)? I was wasting some time checking it out and others
seem to share the same fate.

Yes, but it takes them ages to implement the newest GCC version
(current: gcc 3.4.2) - unlike DJGpp.
