I tried to use rsxntdj a few years ago. The first version I tried
(1.2?) seemed to work ok, but I could never get later versions
working, including 1.51. Even with the first version I tried,
everything would work ok, then I would make a small change to the
djgpp spec file (say to add a graphics library) and everything would
stop working.

These are the compilers I use (all free! ):

Mingw 32-bit windows compiler:

www.mingw.org

with MSYS command line environment (rxvt, bash etc):

http://www.mingw.org/msys.shtml

IDE for mingw (includes mingw):

http://bloodshed.net/dev/

cygwin allows unix source programs to compile and run under win32.
It's a hefty download but worth it:

http://cygwin.com/

Microsoft VC++ command line compiler:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/visualc/vctoolkit2003/

Borland C++ (previously Inprise, previously Borland! ) I don't use
this one, but if you want a full featured IDE, look for Personal:

http://www.borland.com/products/downloads/all_products.html

Graphics:

for many different platforms:

http://alleg.sourceforge.net

or:

http://www.libsdl.org/index.php

for handheld devices:

http://www.gapidraw.com/

opengl is included in cygwin and available for other environments if
you are looking for top quality graphics.

As always, please read the license that comes with the package before
releasing any software.
