That error message is rather unliketly to have nothing to do with your
(admittedly strange) RAM disk setup, but with the DJGPP setup itself.

Check your DJGPP-specific environment variables (DJGPP and PATH)
*very* carefully.  Make sure every single letter is correct.  Then
make sure you actually do have a file d:\dj\lib\libc.a.
