No, you're not.  Because RHIDE isn't a compiler.  It's an idea.  The
compiler is GCC (or rather it's C++ incarnation, G++, in this case).

The problem is that a crucial item is missing in the above two lines.

And the compiler even told you so, in no uncertain terms:

Now get back to your textbook and look up how a function declaration
is supposed to look like, and compare it with the above.

Some of the other errors are likely to be follow-up errors.
