How should one use the DSCOPE?

I mean, if I have a computer an a serial-connected device that talks
to this PC, should I get another PC to run the dcope on and put it "in
the middle"? How should I set the wires then? Does dscope forwards
traffic that comes to the first COM to the second?

Thanks.
Anthony.
