It's been a while since I have seen this one and cannot remember what
the solution was, but here goes:-
1) Ensure that you have removed all of the old GCC (C++) files (libs,
headers etc)
2) If you are mixing 2.03 and 2.04 beta releases then RTFM (Read the
Fine Manual) as it does say NOT to do it.
3) If you are linking a lib or object with your program then rebuilt
it (lib or obj) if you have upgraded GCC since you originally built
it. Different GCC versions have changed the way the C++ function and
variable names are mangled and as such be aware that this may be a
problem (also occurs with other C++ compilers)

If this does not help then check out www.delorie.com and search the
newgroup and DJGPP workers list. I did have this problem a long time
ago when using a beta version of GCC.... So it may help if you get the
latest GCC from the DJGPP directory.

BTW if you are using XP or 2K then please grab the 2.04 beta files.

Andrew
