You are in the wrong newsgroup (as was pointed out in the first answer
to your post). Look at CygWin or MinGW

www.mingw.org
and ask your questions on their mailing lists. Btw, if your goal is MS
Visual C++ compatibility, you should go for MinGW rather than CygWin.
