Apparently some of my applications are crashing on older
systems... P1's and 486 machines....

I would like to know please what would be the best way to
compile for "standard ordinary" 486-DX2-66 compatibility....
I really do not expect to run into anything below 486.

is there more to it than:

-mcpu=i486 ???
(or -m486)

I'd like the best possible compatibility... thanks!
