I am using DJGPP with W2K SP4 sucessfully.

But I had a similar problem with Mingw32 FORTRAN compiler. But only 
when the .exe stopped by an error (it is a frequent problem with a 
development process). The solution: exit command mode, return to 
command mode. Both DOS of W2K and 4NT had the same problem, and both 
are working correctly now, I never know why such bad behaviour, and 
never know why the problem was solved.
