Because I like the pure and stable DOS environment which doesn't pose any
hazard
to my REAL 1.3ghz computer - even when i program in low level with hardware
and interrupts
and using pointers to who knows where.

Yes i have.
I did as 3.9 instructed, and 7.1 didn't really do any good
it still takes me just as long even with write-back enabled, cpu caching
(internal and external)
and a 8MB ramdrive (and yes i set the tmpdir in djgpp.env to point to it)

it simply takes ~10 seconds to compile a 5 line program and that's really
frustrating
i mean, not only did TC do that in a breeze, it also compiled ANYTHING i did
quickly,
even if it was a few hundred lines long.
