I don't think anybody can help you without seeing that batch file, or
at least the actual link command line it uses.

From what you wrote, this looks loke you tried to run the linker
directly, instead of letting (the correct version of) gcc.exe or
gpp.exe do it for you.  That's possible, but extremely error-prone.
