Another reason for no compiler output can be the lack of write 
permission on the TMPDIR specified in DJGPP.ENV - IIRC we had this 
problem with a DJGPP network installation with WIN98 client machines. We 
had to edit DJGPP.ENV to make TMPDIR point to a local directory.
