i wanted to make sure there were no differences between the code you were

make sure the file extension is a lower case .c and you use a lower case .c 
when you invoke gcc.

saving the code you posted to a file vvv.c, and invoking gcc as in

C:\Dload\misc>gcc -Wall -c vvv.c

i get no errors or warnings.
