What version of DOS are you using?
DOS 7.0+ can use FAT32, and you don't need Windows to use it. (My boot drive
is a 6GB FAT32 drive, and I have no problems with it.
If your DOS supports FAT32, you'll get asked whether you want to enable
large disk support when you run FDISK.
