The main reason for it not working on 2K/XP:
On 2K and XP MS have allot of low level incompatabilities. Some one of
these critical issues have been fixed in the DJGPP 2.03 releases last
year. 

Two solutions:-
1) Make sure you are using the latest DJDEV203.ZIP from Simtel (should
be 10-Aug-2002 or later when/if one is released)
2) Grab the DJGPP 2.04 WIP from the following URL and read about the
W2K/XP issues found and make sure you read the pages carefully:

I built it with the DJ204 WIP (later than at the URL above) and it
starts to output the info, but I stopped it as it would take ages.  I
assume that it worked on my XP box.
