DSM files don't have to be in the legacy archives. pakke can install packages
using DSMs stored somewhere other than in the package archives.

One solution to this problem is to write DSMs for all the legacy packages and
put them in a package, e.g.: djgpp-legacy-dsms. pakke actually comes with DSMs
for some legacy packages.

Laurynas Biveinis started an interactive installer. It's called KITE. Its
source is distributed with pakke. You may want to talk to him about it. See
the pakke home page for more details:

Why do you need unzip32 as well as pakke? pakke can unpack packages.
