But it is in DJGPP --- you just have to install the GNU shellutils
port to get it.

No. But you used it incorrectly.  The bug is in the command you used
to compile and link your program that uses libkb functions.  The
'-lkb' option is missing, or in the wrong place. Read the DJGPP
README.1st and FAQ again.
