Subject: ANNOUNCE: Packages of zlib 1.1.4
Reply-To: djgpp AT delorie DOT com

Hello.

zlib 1.1.4 was released recently, to fix a potential security problem in zlib
1.1.3. For more details of the problem, please see http://www.zlib.org/ . I
recommend that anyone using the DJGPP packages of zlib 1.1.3 should upgrade.
Also note that any programs built with zlib 1.1.3 should be rebuilt with zlib
1.1.4, to get the fix.

zlib is a compression/decompression library, as used in gzip.

If you wish to use the zlib library in your programs, please download the
binary distribution - zlib114b.zip. If you wish to examine or rebuild from the
sources, please download the sources distribution - zlib114s.zip. The sources
distribution includes the minizip library, which can be used to build ZIP
decompression into your programs.

zlib 1.1.4 can be downloaded from Simtel.NET and its mirrors:

http://www.simtel.net/gnudlpage.php?product=/gnu/djgpp/v2tk/zlib114b.zip&name=zlib114b.zip
http://www.simtel.net/gnudlpage.php?product=/gnu/djgpp/v2tk/zlib114s.zip&name=zlib114s.zip

If you have any problems with the zlib packages, please let me know.

Regards,
