It's available for quite some time, yes (current version of Binutils
is 2.11.2, so 2.10 happened already).

But note that this doesn't help you with inline assembly, because GCC
cannot emit Intel-style assembly.  So you can only use Intel syntax
in files written entirely in assembly.
