You will have problems if you try to use the files from the CD without some
extra steps.  See http://clio.rice.edu/djgpp/win2k/main.htm for details.  
Windows 2000 is similar to Windows NT with partial long name support.
Probably the easiest thing to do is to install the LFN TSR and patch NTVDM 
(assuming you have administrator privs on the box) -
