By starting it from the .c file's directory (as opposed to clicking on
a desktop or directly on RHIDE.exe in Windows explorer) , and starting
a new project once it's running.  That's how you're supposed to use
RHIDE.

That's a telltale sign of starting RHIDE directly from Windows. Don't
do that.  Open an MSDOS prompt, cd to the right directory, and then type

	rhide 

and <Return> at the prompt.

IIRC, typing

	rhide foo

will do that.
