You understand the word ``program'' too literally. It doesn't
necessarily mean a complete executable; it might mean part of code
that is to be incorporated into a larger program. As, in fact, it
turned out to be in this case: see the messages by the OP.

No, it's about drawing a character with DJGPP.

Portable to what? Only to Borland and DJGPP, and nothing else.
