This is a known problem with Windows 2000, whose reason was identified
only a few days ago.  So, for now, there's no solution or work-around
yet.

In general, I'd suggest not to use Windows 2000 for development with
DJGPP, since there are nastier problems with that (the DOS box crashes
when you compile).  I suggest to use WIndows 9X.
