It's not exactly simple from DJGPP, but under some circumstances
(mainly: with the right DPMI server, and running on raw DOS), you can
do it.

I'm a bit puzzled: where does that memory location come from? I.e. what
determines it? 

You said you tried to but failed... well *show* us how you tried, and
how it failed (error message? crash? nonsense output?).  Hardly anyone
of us can afford their own private crystal ball. So you'll have to
make up for our lack of clairvoyance by supplying facts via this
electronic medium.
