Hi!

I downloaded GNU Emacs (came with the DJGPP package) from the DJGPP website
and installed it on an IBM-compatible PC (the operating system is Windows
NT), but when I tried to invoke the "cc-mode" in emacs by creating a new
file (e.g. prog.cpp) the edit gave the following error message at the
bottom: File mode specification error: (file-error "Cannot open load file"
"cc-mode"). Nevertheless, the editor runs file in the "Fundamental" mode.
I'd also like to make a point that it works fine for running in lisp mode.
It just doesn't work well for cc-mode. I have already spent hours on DJGPP
and GNU Emacs FAQ + Manuals, but I still don't have a clue. I am sincerely
hoping that you would give me some advice.

Thanks!

Regards,

Simon.
