I got that driver as well a few weeks ago...
It seems to use BIOS int 15h functions for PS/2 mouse.

But what if I don't want to use BIOS (let's say in my PMode OS project)? :))
Then my existing driver somehow works but it's not reliable and I still have
no idea why.
