The use of tar in Linux did extract the files, the error
messages were probably caused by doing the extracting
in /dos part of the disk, and root should not be
made the owner.
But I am wondering whether there is a better dos
version of tar.exe. The one I used has a date
of 9/22/94 and has length 34,199
