I don't use RHIDE enough to be sure whether this feature exists,
there, but I think you can always open and edit *any* file, from
it. It doesn't have to be listed in the project, for that.

It may also have a feature I know from C++ Builder: whenever the
cursor is somewhere in the filename part of an #include directive, you
can press Ctrl-Enter and it'll open that file in a new editor window.
