You should never set DJDIR Yourself. Perhaps You followed not very
carefully (or made some type). Reread Readme.1st and check whether
all is done correctly. 

You may try to compile some file from command line (create it with
any text editor) and see what gcc says (If You have older gcc
version whan 2.95.2 then upgrade).
