There appear to be two problems here.

That doesn't sound like a DJGPP error.  Can you run the compilation
with -v and post everything it prints out?  Also post the contents of
your environment (output of the `set' command).

None, but the correct syntax is very different from what you're
using.  See FAQ section 18.13.
