This shouldn't happen, then.

One thing, though: try waiting a while.  If your program does a lot of
malloc, YAMD will make it signficantly slower.

If that doesn't help, send me a test case and I'll look at it.  (It
would be nice if it were simpler than your current example, since I'd
rather not run buggy direct disk access code on my machine :)
