Subject: ANNOUNCE: RLSystems VGA Planets Software Development Kit V1.0.2.1

VGA Planets Software Development Kit for DJGPP - this is a complete kit to
make VGA Planets add-ons and utilities at both the player- and host sides.

<ftp://ftp.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/gnu/djgpp/v2tk/vsd1021b.zip>

VSD1 - the RLSystems VGA Planets Software Development Kit is a set of
libraries for DJGPP intended to aid the development of VGA Planets add-ons
and utilities. VGA Planets is "the most populater play by E-mail game on
Earth" according to it's creator, Tim Wisseman <cocomax AT aol DOT com>. Fact is
that it is a play by E-mail game that is played by hundreds of players, and
that the host program is extensible with so-called "add-ons".
VSD1 is designed to make it very easy to write such add-ons - and other VGA
Planets related software - in C or C++, using the free C compiler DJGPP. It
is currently being used for all RLSystems VGA Planets add-ons, and is in
use by some other (registered) programmers as well. It comes with fairly
complete documentation and an example program.

    1. Installation is simple: just unpack it into your
DJGPP directory, preserving the directory structure.
    2. If you haven't used this kit before, and haven't used
Swing or VPL3 before, DO NOT let it overwrite any
files! Should it ask to, mail me.
    3. It is advisable to read the readmeVSD.txt file before
using the package - it contains some handy remarks -
e.g. how to get easy access to the on-line INFO
documentation. It does not, however, contain any
       actually required information ;-)
    4. Sources of the VPL3 library are not available unless
you obtain permission from Tim Wisseman, the creator
of VGA Planets, or already have his sources.
    5. Sources of the Swing library are available on
request, from me only, and not to be distributed by
       anyone else.

For bugreports, registering (for free) or any questions, mail me at
<info AT rlsystems DOT net>.
