Well I strongly object to this statement. 

I have a Voodoo3 2000 and I am happy that I brought it, it works fine, has
no problem with Linux (3dfx was one of the first companies to support 3d
acceleration for linux), no compatibility problems either as all the
programs written for 3D acceleration use either openGL or Glide or DirectX
which is supported extrememly well under the Voodoo chipsets.

Voodoo 3 2000 is a great card.
